New One Shot and Review

Good Morning everyone. I haven’t been inspired to write by anything in a very long time, but that changed this week when I read A Second Chance by Valardoheris on AO3.

It has a rating of Explicit for the sex and textual visions of violence and blood.

After the events and bullying surrounding “Snape’s Worst Memory.”

Severus Snape and Lily Evans salvage their friendship during their sixth year at Hogwarts, and then they discover that their true feelings for each other are not so different.

Sometimes forgiveness and a second chance are all you need to discover true happiness.

My thoughts: A Second Chance it a rare piece of work in the HP universe. I was caught in the author’s web from the beginning and didn’t want to stop reading until I finished it. In fact, I believe I dreamt of it one night, lol.

There is no Voldemort or war in this story. No manipulative Dumbledore, either.

Instead there is a sweet love story with a smattering of unhappiness and a helping of what could have happened if James Potter didn’t get the girl.

A Second Chance is well worth the read; a thoroughly enjoyable read of 36 chapters.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I wrote Guilt as a gift for the author of A Second Chance, Valardoheris , when I was inspired by chapter 32. Guilt is rated T for some mild language.

Summary: Nearly three years after the events in 7th year, and some counseling, Sirius Black bites the bullet and apologizes.

Plagiarism at its finest! 😦

Please, if you have the time beta read for her!

Share the crap out of her post!

I received an update earlier today and the laws are not in her favor since this started as fanfiction!

In this case, beta reading simply means you get an advanced copy of the book (ePub, mobi, .pdf, what have you), you read it and you post a review on Amazon the day of publication (or within a day or two). It really is that simple.

If memory serves: Save Me is an excellent weekend read, or for the beach, or the pool, or just when you have some downtime.

We don’t want one of our finest writers to be pushed aside because somebody decided they liked her work enough to publish it for themselves! Her heart and soul went into this story, she’s awfully proud of it, and she should get the recognition for the hard work put into this story. Not somebody who simply sat at their computer with a split screen of Word (or G-Docs or other word processing program) on one side and the browser on the other and copied, word for word (changing only the names) Just Wandering’s heart felt story of heart break, healing and recovery!

Please, help her! Whether it’s beta’ing the story and posting a review, reading the fanfiction and reviewing, or words of encouragement! All help and encouragement is greatly appreciated!

Important Update! | Midnight Opheliac

Guess who’s back with Ethereal Redemption?! Midnight Opheliac! WOOT!

Welcome back! I’m more than happy to be working with you. Ethereal Redemption is one of my favorite stories, even though I haven’t read it nearly often enough :(.

I’m helping her clean up the original chapters and come up with some twists and turns and surprises for the last few chapters.

Hi everyone, I know I haven’t posted in a few months but things have been progressing well here behind the scenes. First of all, I’d like y’all to give a super warm welcome to my …

Power to the People | Makesmyheadspin

Since I know some of you are going on the March On Washington this weekend, I thought I would share this important protest information from makesmyheadspin.

It’s good advice. Please, be safe and return to us in a timely, and safe, manner.

I don’t want to get too political here because that’s not what this blog is for, but since this blog has the most followers I wanted to share something. If you’re planning on prot…

What Did You Do?

I was visiting another blog this morning, answering a question about long car trips when I had some inspiration!

What did you do to occupy yourself, or your own children, while on long car trips?

We did the classic I Spy, name all the states/provinces alphabetically or geographically, how many out of state/province license plates can you spot, how many rigs (transport trucks) can you spot (developed specifically for my 5 year old, at the time, brother), card games, Yahtzee, Boggle, reading, dinky cars, sleeping, arguing sigh. Those were the days, now we hardly see each other.

Ooohhhh, we also did spelling and grade specific math without pen and paper, a calculator or anything else other than our brains and fingers and toes :D.

Never take a moment for granted

It’s true though. We all think, “just one peek,” and we look to see what the email was or who texted us.

We all think, ‘sending one little letter won’t hurt anybody,’ and we send that ‘k’ or ‘?’.

We all think, “damn! I hope that’s *** calling,” then we pick the phone up in our hands and carry on an animated conversation with whoever.

We all reach to change the song on the radio or mp3 Player/iPod.

We all reach over to adjust the GPS volume or input the address

Where I live, any of the above, and more, is illegal and could net you a minimum $490 dollar fine for first offense distracted driving plus 3 demerit points (if you settle out of court. $1000 if you go to court) and go as high as 10 years in federal penitentiary for causing bodily harm or 14 years for actually killing someone with your vehicle.

It’s not worth it people, it’s really not. My life, your life, everybody’s life is worth shutting your phone off, putting it in Airplane mode, turning off the ringer, not fiddling with the radio knob and a million other things we do while we’re driving that we shouldn’t.

It certainly wasn’t worth that 11 year old girl’s life!

Please, think twice about talking/texting/whatever and driving!

This isn’t a new chapter, I apologize. It’s more of a heads up and reminder.  I may be missing for awhile. Though I hope I still have the desire to keep writing and am able to come…
